Sales Manager – Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients
The opportunity
Laborare Group is supporting a leading global ingredients business in the appointment of a Sales Manager for its active pharmaceutical ingredients portfolio in France.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven and technically capable sales professional with established experience selling APIs within the French pharmaceutical market.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for product strategy, market development and strategic customer relationships across France, working with an innovative and growing portfolio of pharmaceutical ingredients.
The role
As Sales Manager, you will develop API business across the French market by combining strategic account management with active new-business development.
You will:
- Drive product strategy and market development across France.
- Manage and grow key national accounts.
- Develop relationships with CDMOs, generic pharmaceutical manufacturers and other strategically important customers.
- Identify and deliver new-business opportunities across target accounts.
- Lead complex, consultative sales cycles involving technical validation and regulatory considerations.
- Translate customer requirements into commercially and technically appropriate solutions.
- Build relationships with stakeholders across research and development, formulation, procurement and marketing functions.
- Work closely with internal technical, regulatory and commercial colleagues throughout the sales process.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer pipelines, priorities and product requirements.
- Maintain visibility of market developments and emerging commercial opportunities.
- Support the continued development of the company’s API portfolio within France.
The position requires the ability to combine commercial drive with credible technical discussion throughout detailed and often lengthy pharmaceutical sales cycles.
About you
You will be an experienced pharmaceutical-ingredients sales professional with a strong understanding of APIs and the French market.
You will bring:
- Proven experience selling active pharmaceutical ingredients within France.
- Established relationships or market knowledge across French pharmaceutical manufacturers, CDMOs and/or generics businesses.
- A strong understanding of pharmaceutical formulations and ingredient applications.
- Experience managing technically complex and consultative sales processes.
- The ability to navigate long sales cycles involving technical validation and regulatory considerations.
- Experience engaging with research and development, formulation, procurement and marketing stakeholders.
- A successful record of developing strategic accounts and generating new business.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- A BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science or a closely related discipline.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- A proactive, autonomous and commercially focused approach.
