Driven by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, increased rack densities and the transition towards advanced liquid-cooling technologies, data centre cooling has become an important strategic market across the region.

With an established pipeline of opportunities and significant investment in this growth area, our client is seeking an experienced commercial professional to accelerate market penetration and strengthen its position across the data centre cooling ecosystem.

This is a highly visible appointment focused on building market presence, developing strategic relationships and converting emerging opportunities into sustainable commercial growth.

As Business Development Manager, you will develop and expand the EMEA opportunity pipeline across:

  • Direct-to-chip liquid cooling.
  • Facility-side cooling systems.
  • Immersion-cooling technologies.

Working closely with country sales teams, technical specialists, product-management colleagues and external stakeholders, you will lead market-development activity across the region.

You will:

  • Build, manage and continually develop the EMEA data centre cooling opportunity pipeline.
  • Identify and qualify projects before technology specifications and supplier selections are finalised.
  • Develop strategic relationships across the wider data centre ecosystem.
  • Engage with data centre operators, colocation providers, EPC contractors and consultants.
  • Build relationships with cooling OEMs, system integrators and technology partners.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to drive customer engagement and opportunity development.
  • Work with internal business units and product-management teams to align market strategy and technical positioning.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insight and project-qualification support.
  • Develop target-account plans and support go-to-market initiatives for the data centre segment.
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity and emerging cooling technologies.
  • Act as the central commercial lead for data centre cooling business-development activities across EMEA.
  • Help convert early-stage projects and relationships into long-term commercial opportunities.

You will be a commercially driven business-development professional who thrives in technical, project-led markets and enjoys building relationships across complex stakeholder networks.

Direct experience within data centre cooling would be valuable, but applications are also encouraged from professionals working in adjacent technical sectors, including HVAC, thermal management, industrial fluids, infrastructure, engineering services and specialty chemicals.

You will bring:

  • At least five years of relevant business-development experience.
  • A degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in business development, strategic sales, market development or key-account management within a technical B2B environment.
  • Experience selling into project-based markets involving complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong relationship-building and professional-networking capabilities.
  • The ability to influence technical and commercial decision-makers.
  • Experience identifying and qualifying opportunities during the early stages of project development.
  • A strong understanding of complex, consultative solution-selling processes.
  • Experience working with EPCs, OEMs, consultants, contractors, system integrators or major industrial customers.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with regional sales, technical and product-management teams.
  • Fluent English.
  • Ideally, proficiency in one or more additional European languages.
  • A proactive, autonomous and commercially focused approach.

Experience involving one or more of the following would be particularly beneficial:

  • Data centre infrastructure.
  • Liquid-cooling technologies.
  • Direct-to-chip cooling.
  • Immersion cooling.
  • Thermal-management solutions.
  • Industrial fluids or heat-transfer fluids.
  • HVAC systems.
  • Chillers, cooling towers or industrial cooling equipment.
  • Mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Energy or engineering markets.

This appointment offers the opportunity to play an influential commercial role within one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving areas of infrastructure development.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Shape the organisation’s commercial position within the EMEA data centre cooling market.
  • Develop relationships across a complex and expanding technology ecosystem.
  • Work with emerging liquid-cooling and thermal-management technologies.
  • Build a strategically important regional opportunity pipeline.
  • Influence market strategy, technical positioning and go-to-market activity.
  • Collaborate with sales, technical and product specialists across multiple countries.
  • Take ownership of early-stage market and project development.
  • Gain strong visibility across the wider international business.

The location is flexible across EMEA, ideally within or near an important data centre market such as Germany, Italy, Spain or Portugal.

The position has responsibility for commercial development throughout the EMEA region. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the country where they will be based.

If you have relevant technical business-development experience and are motivated by emerging technologies, complex solution selling and the development of strategic infrastructure markets, please apply using your CV or LinkedIn profile.
