The opportunity
Laborare Group is supporting a leading chemicals organisation in the appointment of a Product Manager to join its team in Hamburg.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded product professional with experience in polymers, plastics or related materials markets.
Working at the intersection of product strategy, market development and customer engagement, the successful candidate will help shape the direction and commercial growth of an established product portfolio.
The role
As Product Manager, you will take responsibility for developing and supporting a portfolio of polymer and chemical-material products within industrial B2B markets.
You will:
- Develop and implement product and portfolio strategies.
- Manage the commercial development of products across relevant industrial markets.
- Identify new applications, customers and market-growth opportunities.
- Monitor portfolio performance and support commercial growth initiatives.
- Analyse customer requirements, market developments and competitor activity.
- Support product positioning and the development of clear customer propositions.
- Work closely with sales colleagues to identify and develop commercial opportunities.
- Engage with customers to understand their technical and commercial requirements.
- Provide product and market insight to internal stakeholders.
- Support the introduction and development of new products.
- Coordinate product-related initiatives across commercial and technical functions.
- Contribute to longer-term market-development and portfolio-planning activities.
The position requires someone who can combine detailed product and market knowledge with strong commercial judgement and effective customer engagement.
About you
You will be an experienced product professional with knowledge of polymers, plastics or related chemical-material markets.
You will bring:
- Proven product-management experience within polymers, plastics or chemical materials.
- A strong understanding of industrial and B2B markets.
- Experience managing and developing commercial product portfolios.
- A commercially focused approach to product strategy and market development.
- Experience identifying and delivering portfolio-growth initiatives.
- The ability to interpret market developments and customer requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The confidence to work directly with customers and commercial teams.
- The ability to collaborate effectively across technical and commercial functions.
- Fluent German and English.
- A proactive, structured and commercially minded approach.
- The ability to be based in, or relocate to, Hamburg.
