Business Development Manager – Data Centre Solutions | Southern Europe
The Opportunity
Laborare Group is supporting an international provider of technical solutions in the appointment of a Business Development Manager for Southern Europe.
This newly defined regional position will focus on developing new business opportunities within the rapidly expanding data centre market, with particular emphasis on liquid cooling and the supporting technologies required by increasingly power-intensive facilities.
The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing business area and build relationships across a market being reshaped by artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and rising rack densities.
It would suit an energetic and commercially ambitious sales professional who understands how data centre projects develop and can identify opportunities across a network of technical, operational and commercial stakeholders.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will develop new commercial opportunities across Southern Europe and help strengthen the company’s presence within the regional data centre ecosystem.
You will:
-
Identify and develop prospective customers and projects across the data centre market.
-
Generate new opportunities for liquid cooling and associated technical solutions.
-
Build relationships with data centre operators, colocation providers, engineering contractors, consultants, equipment manufacturers and technology partners.
-
Engage with relevant stakeholders during the early stages of project development.
-
Understand customer requirements and coordinate appropriate technical and commercial responses.
-
Develop regional target-account and market-development plans.
-
Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact and qualification to proposal and commercial agreement.
-
Work closely with technical specialists, product teams and regional colleagues.
-
Support customer presentations, commercial proposals and project discussions.
-
Monitor regional investment, emerging projects, market trends and competitor activity.
-
Maintain accurate pipeline information, forecasts and customer-development plans.
-
Represent the business at relevant customer meetings and industry events.
This is a commercially focused role requiring proactive market development rather than the management of an established customer portfolio.
About You
You will be a motivated B2B sales professional with experience working within the data centre ecosystem or selling relevant technical solutions into the market.
You will bring:
-
At least three years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, key account management or market development.
-
Knowledge of the data centre ecosystem and the organisations involved in delivering data centre infrastructure.
-
Experience selling engineered fluids, heating, cooling, power or related technical solutions into data centre customers or projects.
-
An understanding of project-led sales involving multiple technical and commercial stakeholders.
-
The ability to develop new relationships and create opportunities within an emerging market.
-
Strong commercial judgement and confidence progressing complex sales opportunities.
-
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
-
An energetic, driven and highly motivated approach.
-
The ability to work independently while collaborating with regional and international colleagues.
-
Fluency in English and either Spanish or Italian.
-
The willingness and ability to travel regularly across the region.
Experience in liquid cooling, thermal management or another specialist solution used within data centres would be particularly valuable.
